On January 31^st, the first female master blender of Venezuela, celebrates 30 years developing the unmatchable profiles of Ron Carúpano. We are filled with joy having Carmen López de Bastidas part of Destilería Carúpano’s family, one of the four rum female master blenders in the world. Her olfactory sensitivity and the subtlety of her taste create the perfect harmony under a legacy of dedication and hard work.

A woman that has elevated the name of Venezuela and our valuable Ron Carúpano throughout the globe. Nowadays, the master blender has earned recognition within the spirits industry, since she has distinguished herself in choosing the most exclusive sugarcane alcohols blended with pure spring water coming from Destilería Carúpano’s deep springs. These two elements, alcohol and water contribute fundamentally to build the distinctive feature of the rums she has designed.

Carmen López De Bastidas, knows from first hand that the white American oak barrels utilized for aging combined with the vast aging cycles are a key combination for the personality, fragrance, complexity and finesse of our rums.
